It’s time to gather the clans and seize the day! Next week, many hundreds of Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers from all over our country, will be in Washington D.C., on June 23rd, 2015, in meetings with members of Congress to talk about taking action on climate change.  They’ll urge them to pass legislation to reduce the threat of global warming.  Your simple action on this really matters.

I’d be very grateful if you’d PLEASE call up your 2 Senators and congressional representative in Washington, D.C., next Monday morning, June 22. Let them know that as one of their constituents, you’d like the Congressmember to meet with the CCL volunteers in person the next day, June 23rd, and then talk with their Congressional colleagues about solutions to this crisis.  If you call, it WILL magnify the impact of these meetings.

If you want to include in your call a specific solution, carbon fee and dividend is a great one, a Holy Grail for limiting emissions! A highly respected study projects that it will:
* Reduce CO2 emissions by 33% in 10 years, 52% in 20 years.
* Add 2.2 million jobs in the first 10 years.
*Save 13,000 lives annually, because of reduced air pollution, and put money in the pockets of most Americans.

Or, you may just want to say something like this:

Hi,

My name is (you) and I’m a voter in (your town).

I’d like to leave a message for (Congressmember/Senator X).  

I’m very concerned about global warming. 

I have some friends from Citizens Climate Lobby who are coming to Washington to talk with you on June 23rd.

It’s important to me that the (congressmember/senator) meet with them personally and support their legislation to deal with global warming.

Will you give the (congressman/senator) my message?  Thank you.
