If you’re like me, you usually enjoy Earth Day. It’s a celebration of our natural world and all the gifts Mother Nature has to offer. However, like me, you may find yourself a little depressed these days when it comes to our environment. The outlook isn’t especially cheery what with the current U.S. administration’s war on sustainability and society’s seeming indifference to the continuous onslaught of climate-related disasters. But take heart and shake off those blues, because what you’re feeling is a sign that you care and boy do we need you in the game. Noam Chomsky said, “If you assume that there is no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that… there are opportunities to change things, then there is a possibility that you can contribute to making a better world.” You can only make a difference if you act to do so, and the best cure for feeling powerless is to take action. The payoff is knowing that you are doing good in the world and that, Earth Angels, is priceless. Savor nature, and save yourself in the process. Happy Earth Day.
